Legislation for ‘remote education’ |

The Russian Federation Stated Duma Committee of Education has held a «round table» meeting today. The topic for discussion is “Remote control technologies in the general education: legislation”. This meeting has been broadcasted to each region of the Russian Federation. Some Chechen members of the above-mentioned Committee, representatives of Chechen Ministry of Education and Science, headmasters of Chechen schools and information technology specialists also took part in this “round table” meeting.
The meeting was opened by Yury Karabasov, a main vice-chairman of the State Duma Committee of Education.
‘Remote education (i.e. education at a distance) attracts the nation attention’- a statement made at the meeting. Participants of the meeting made some offers for the constructive legalization of “remote education”. After it, they noted that the development of remote control technology was one of the effective ways for Russia to become one of twenty developed countries by 2015.
Ruslan Betrakhmanov made some comments on the results of the meeting:
“The Russian Federation State Duma will legislate to develop our education. We understand that the world technologies are developinvg; accordingly, approaches to the system of education are changing too. Today we know that we can not be below the European standards.”
